Position Summary

We currently have an opening to expand our growing Underwriting team.  The responsibilities of this role will be financial review of insurance terms, conditions and market competitiveness.  The role also includes the preparation of all Requests for Proposals (RFP) from the marketplace as well as renewal evaluations for assigned clients. The right candidate will report to the Vice President, Underwriting and predominately focus on client management support and new business financial evaluations. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Responsible for the preparation of the RFPs, collection of the marketing responses and formulating the marketing results 

• Supporting of the Designing, distributing, and evaluating responses to surveys and RFPs 

• Work closely with senior Underwriting management to support the RFP/renewal marketing process 

• Collaborate with the carriers to obtain data points for the monthly financial reporting packages including detailed premium, claims, membership, commission, and cash           reconciliation information

• Support the Account Management team to develop payroll report, invoice, billing preparation, and any other ad-hoc report as needed

• Strong communication skills and ability to translate financial concepts into customer friendly format 

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce quality deliverables on time

• Other duties as assigned



• Bachelor’s Degree

• 3-5 years of experience in medical underwriting at a major insurance carrier, benefit consultant or brokerage

• Experience in a client facing role for a major insurance carrier

• Applied Epic or similar agency management software experience, preferred

• Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members

• Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior and effort to achieve goals and objectives

• Self-motivated and driven

• Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines

• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance

• Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills

• Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy

• The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information

• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude
